You will integrate a team of 13, reporting directly to the Director of Group Finance Business Partnering. This team reports aggregated and consolidated figures (Ebitda; Capex; FCF & BWC; Efficiency Savings; Group KPIs) to the Executive Committee and the Board, and drives critical group-wide initiatives to ensure Proximus meets its financial objectives, in close collaboration with all Business Unit Finance Directors (our B2C business, B2B business etc).The Group Finance Business Partnering team works in close and direct collaboration with the CFO of Proximus, and plays a critical role in aiding in Group management decisions and ensuring the Group meets its financial objectives.
This team is mainly responsible for the following activities:
- Report on actuals and in-year forecast, and coordinate long term planning for EBITDA, CAPEX, FCF, Business Working Capital, Efficiency Savings and Group KPIs
- Draw data-based insights, and challenge the Business and Finance Business Partners where and when relevant to drive achievement of targets for the above financial metrics. Take ownership of specific critical initiatives where relevant
- For Group KPIs in particular: recommend plan design and specific targets to drive achievement of Group targets
- For FCF in particular: own end-to-end actuals reporting and short and long term forecasting, in collaboration with Treasury, Tax and Accounting teams. Drive initiatives to ensure Group meets its annual objectives
- Answer Group-wide ad-hoc requests coming from the CFO or Executive Committee
- S&S BP: business partnering for the Staff & Support divisions (Finance, HR, Corporate Affairs, Strategy) including reporting on actuals and definition of forecast, budget, long-term planning, and challenging the business where and when relevant to ensure the Group meets its annual objectives
Your mission:
The Group Investments & Special Projects Lead is a critical role at Proximus, and is responsible for:
- ensuring the optimal allocation of the Proximus Group Financial means to its most relevant Strategic priorities
- coordinating key strategic financial projects for the Proximus Group
Your accountabilities:
Manage the Investments (“CAPEX”) of Proximus Group (€1.3Bn), including:
- Long Term Investments Plan delivery
- Next year’s target setting delivery
- Monthly / quarterly reforecasts
- Actuals monitoring
You’ll be critical in challenging business asks via data-based analyses, and matching business requests with the financial constraints, finding reasonable trade-off proposals to submit to the Proximus Executive Committee. The role involves coordinating with, questioning/challenging the Business and the Finance Business partners to ensure the Group meets its short term and long term financial objectives.
Manage special projects. These can relate to:
OPEX Efficiency programme
- Reporting on existing OPEX €250M programme and flagging risks to the Executive Committee
- Challenging the business where and when relevant with data-based insights
- Identifying further OPEX cost efficiencies and following up on delivery
Capex improvement projects like
- Identifying CAPEX cost efficiencies and following up on delivery
- Coordinating strategic prioritization choices
Other strategic projects like
- Enforcing synergies between CAPEX and OPEX efficiencies
- Support in M&A files
Finance Transformation projects like
- Investment governance process review
- Further develop CAPEX Rolling Forecast processes
- Contribution to the xP&A tool replacement & ensure integration with the Capex management tools
This position is unique at Proximus in that it will give you a true helicopter view of all large scale investments and strategic decisions at Group level, and provide an opportunity to influence these decisions. The role also offers good visibility and frequent contacts with Proximus senior leadership.
You will lead a team of 2 to 3 persons.
Your Profile
Hard skills:
- University level (Master), MBA preferable
- 8-15 years’ experience in a Finance or Management Consulting environment
- Experience in Financial controlling (or Business Partnering) preferable
- Project management experience in Finance consulting and/or financial audit preferable
- Knowledge in Telco investments is a plus
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel & MS Powerpoint. Experience in TM1 and/or Anaplan is a plus
- Good knowledge of French, Dutch and English
